It is not only business that brings long-established drover Levi to a remote valley in the Black Forest in spring 1935. He wants to marry Lisbeth, the farmer's daughter. The valley has changed, though. A cave-in at a nearby railroad tunnel brings the Berliner engineer Kohler and his workers to the valley. From then on the radio in the pub is always on at top volume and the regular's table is decorated with Nazi-flags. Levi the drover becomes the Jew-Boy. Lisbeth is the only one to keep faith with him. |
